Stop Dropping My Mean Girls...
I would like to take the time to acknowledge all of those misunderstood movies that go up onto Netflix but are shortly taken down as soon as I fall in love with them. Seven, Paranormal Activity (1, 2, 3), and the movie loved by millions of young girls everywhere Mean Girls. Every day, I hear girls talk about Mean Girls. It is being quoted, raved about, and even worn. At least once a week I’ll see a girl wearing a shirt that says, “You can’t sit with us,” or “On Wednesdays we wear pink.” I will admit that I have a shirt with one of those sayings. I am astounded that this movie came out eleven years ago and it is still adored by people across the nation.
Every once in a while, I’ll have my lazy nights and binge watch on Netflix, whether it be my favorite show or my favorite movie, I’ll spend hours on Netflix. The one thing I want to address in rage is the fact that Mean Girls spend a solid week or two on Netflix and it will be removed for months! Why?! Who decides this? Why is it okay to have such a popular movie on Netflix just to be ripped out of the Netflix world a few short weeks later? If the people of Netflix were smart, they would keep it all of the time. I try to watch Mean Girls as often as I can when I discover that it’s on Netflix. It is just a constant barrage of stress and worriment when I want to watch that movie. “Will it still be up on Netflix? How much longer do I have? Will Cady Heron still be wearing army pants and flip-flops? Will fetch ever happen?”
